Tatsuya Shirai and Riku Kato from our laboratory presented at the Technical Committee on Software Science (SS), held from March 10 to 12, 2025.
Mr. Shirai presented his paper titled “Towards a Large-Scale Empirical Study on the Effectiveness of Continuous Fuzzing”. He discussed the impact of continuous fuzzing on vulnerability detection. The empirical study on OSS-Fuzz revealed that (1) a large number of vulnerabilities are detected in the initial stages of continuous fuzzing, and detection continues over time, (2) continuous fuzzing improves coverage as it progresses, and (3) the increase in coverage contributes to the detection of more vulnerabilities.
