Assistant prof. Kashiwa's research presentation at ICSME 2022

Yutaro Kashiwa, an assistant professor at SDLab, gave a presentation at the journal-first track of ICSME 2022 (the 38th IEEE International Conference on Software Maintenance and Evolution). The research is a collaborative work with Kyushu University, the University of Tokyo, and Concordia University (Canada). Also, in the same conference, our paper “AIP: Scalable and Reproducible Execution Traces in Energy Studies on Mobile Devices” has been accepted, collaborating with Kyushu University, Radboud University (Netherlands), and Università della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland). The paper has proposed AIP (Android Instrumentation Profiler) to trigger the source code of mobile apps for energy measurement studies. AIP is able to target source code and generate stable results across multiple runs and revisions which opens the door to reproducible large-scale energy measurement studies.

Yutaro Kashiwa is an assistant professor at Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan. He worked for Hitachi Ltd. as a full-time software engineer for two years before spending three years as a research fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. He received his Ph.D. degree in engineering from Wakayama University in 2020. After receiving his Ph.D., he was a post-doc under SENSOR (SENsible SOftware Refactoring) project led by Yasutaka Kamei and Gabriele Bavota. His research interests include empirical software engineering, specifically the analysis of software bugs, testing, refactoring, and release.
