Profile

Kohei Ichikawa is an Associate Professor in Nara Institute of Science and Technology. His research interests are in the areas of distributed systems, virtual computing and networking. As a member of PRAGMA (Pacific Rim Application and Grid Middleware Assembly), an international collaborative research community of eScience, he has been collaborating with many researchers in Japan, the U.S., Taiwan, Thailand and other countries for many years. Under the community, he is leading the PRAGMA-ENT project to build a global virtual network testbed using SDN. In recent years, he has also been working on an inter-university collaborative education project for AI and Big data and Cloud computing (enPit AiBiC, 2016- ).

Biography

  • Mar. 2008: received Ph.D. in Information Science from Osaka University
  • Apr. 2008 - Oct. 2009: worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Research Institute for Socionetwork Strategies, Kansai University
  • Nov. 2009 - May. 2012: worked as an Asistant Professor at Central Office for Information Infrastructure, Osaka University
  • Apr. 2015 - Mar. 2016: worked as a Visiting Scholar at California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, University of California, San Diego
  • Jun. 2012 - now: working as an Associate Professor at Division of Information Science, Nara Institute of Science and Technology
